Selecting the Sync Direction
When you create or edit a sync, you select the direction that the sync goes. For example, from your computer to your Online File Folder, from your Online File Folder to your computer, or from both directions.
When you sync in both directions, the Sync Tool compares the time-stamps of each file and overwrites the older file with the newer one in the corresponding folder. In addition, files included in one folder and not the other are copied to the corresponding folder, in both directions.
To Select the Sync Direction
- From the Syncs list, select the sync you want to edit and click Edit.
- Under both Your Computer and Online File Folder, verify that the folders listed are the folders that you want to sync.
- If necessary, click the image under Your Computer or Online File Folder to specify a different folder on your PC or in your Online File Folder account to synchronize.
- Click the arrows between the images of Your Computer and Online File Folder to select the direction that you want to synchronize.
- If necessary, update your synchronization options. For more information, see Creating a Sync.
- Click OK.
NOTE: You can go to the Schedule tab to set a time and frequency that you want this sync to automatically synchronize. For more information, see Scheduling Synchronization. Otherwise, you can manually synchronize your folders. For more information, see Synchronizing Manually.
