To synchronize folders between your local computer and your Online File Folder, you need to create a sync. A sync links two folders, one in your Online File Folder and one on your computer, creating a path or connection between them to transfer files back and forth.

To Create a Sync

  1. Open the Sync Tool.
  2. In the Sync Tool window, click New Sync, and then go to the General tab.
  3. In the Sync Name field, enter a name for the new sync.
  4. Under Your Computer, click Select Folder to specify the folder on your PC that you want to create a synchronization relationship with.
  5. Click Create New Folder or select an existing folder with which to synchronize, and then click OK.
  6. Under Online File Folder, click Select Folder to specify the folder in your Online File Folder account that you want to create a synchronization relationship with.
  7. Click Create New Folder or select an existing folder with which to synchronize, and then click OK.

  9. Select from the following synchronization options:

    Include subfolders
During synchronization, retains any subfolders you created under the selected folder. This function can be enabled when synchronizing in either or both directions.
    Move deleted to Recycle Bin
Moves deleted files from your computer to the Recycle Bin. This option is only available when the Allow delete option is enabled and when synchronizing from Online File Folder to your computer.
  10. Use one of the following fields to indicate which files to synchronize from the selected folders.
    Files to include
Enter an * (asterisk) to include all files, use the * as a wildcard to include all files of a specified file type (i.e., *.txt), or enter full filenames (i.e., file.txt) of the individual files you want to synchronize from the selected folders. Entries must be separated by a semicolon (;).
    Files to exclude

Use the * as a wildcard to exclude all files of a specified file type (i.e., *.txt), or enter full filenames (i.e., file.txt) of the individual files in the folder that you want to exclude from synchronization. Entries must be separated by a semicolon (;).

NOTE: You can go to the Schedule tab to set a time and frequency that you want this sync to automatically synchronize. For more information, see Scheduling Synchronization. Otherwise, you can manually synchronize your folders. For more information, see Synchronizing Manually.
