Re-Key an SSL Certificate

Re-keying is the process of replacing an existing SSL certificate.

Re-key an SSL Certificate

  1. Log into the account where you purchased your SSL Certificate Credit.
  2. Select SSL Certificates from the My Products menu.
  3. Click Manage Certificate to the right of the domain name. You will be taken directly into the SSL Management Account. All certificates associated with that shopper ID will be displayed from all older SSL account management accounts.
  4. Click the certificate alias you wish to re-key.
  5. Copy the certificate details shown on the screen and use that exact data when creating a new CSR. Exact capitalization, punctuation and spacing are required. For Standard (Medium Assurance) certificates the CSR details for City, State and Country are not critical.

  6. After the new CSR is generated, return to the Secure Certificate Manager.
  7. Click Re-key at the bottom of the page.
  8. Paste your server generated CSR in the CSR field. Select the Web Server Type from the drop down menu and click Continue.
  9. Verify the Distinguished Name information and click Confirm.
  10. Click the link to download the re-keyed certificate.
  11. Log out of your secure certificate account.
