To configure your dedicated server for external Web access:
- From the Start Menu, select Control Panel, and then double-click the Network Connections icon.
- In the Network Connections window, right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.
- Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) once to select it, and then click the Properties button.
- Click the Use the following DNS server addresses radio button and enter the following IP Addresses into the Preferred and Alternate DNS fields:Preferred DNS server: 216.69.160.2
Alternate DNS server: 216.69.160.1
This will allow you to:
- View external Web sites from your server.
- Test various site modifications before you go live.
- Browse the Web from your server.
- Check your site from a different geographic location.
