Within the Web-Based Email application, you can enable spam filtering for your email account.
You can turn your spam filter on or off, specify how to handle email messages that are identified as spam, and specify the level you want to use for filtering.
The various strengths of spam filtering determine how much perceived spam may pass through the filter. The strength levels are:
- Very High
- Almost all spam is caught. This level has the highest risk of valid email messages being incorrectly marked as spam.
- High
- More spam is caught. This level has a higher risk of valid email messages being incorrectly marked as spam.
- Medium
- Most spam is caught. At this level, some valid email messages might be incorrectly marked as spam.
- Low
- Some spam will get past the filter. This level has a low risk of valid email messages being incorrectly marked as spam.
- Very Low
- Most spam will get past the filter. This level has the lowest risk of valid email messages being incorrectly marked as spam.
To Turn Spam Filters On or Off
- From the Settings menu, click Spam Settings.
- From the Spam Filtering Is list, select On. Or, if you want to disable spam filtering, select Off.
- From the Behavior list, select an option for handling spam.
- From the Strength area, select an option for identifying spam.
NOTE: The lower the level, the more spam that will pass through the filter undetected. With higher levels, some email messages may be incorrectly labeled as spam.
- Click OK.
