About .ph Domain Names

The .ph country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents Philippines. For companies that conduct business in Philippines and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, these domain names are a good investment. Registering a .ph domain name gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence.

The information below also applies to the following country-code second-level domain names (ccSLDs):

  • .com.ph — Intended for commercial entities
  • .net.ph — Intended for network infrastructures, such as Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
  • .org.ph — Intended for noncommercial entities

Who can register .ph domain names?

Anyone can register them on a first-come, first-served basis.

These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of three characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #.

Which registry controls .ph domain names?

dotPH Domains Inc. is the registry for .ph domain names.

For how long can I register .ph domain names?

You can register .ph domain names for 1-, 2-, 5- and 10-year terms.

When do .ph domain names renew?

Auto-renewal is attempted one day prior to the domain name's expiration date. If the renewal attempt fails, we re-attempt renewal 5 days later and again 12 days after that.

If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it by the 25th day after the expiration date, it must be redeemed. There might be a fee for the redemption. Your domain name will be deleted and removed from your account if not renewed by the 59th day following expiration.

Can I transfer .ph domain names to my account with you?

No.

Can I transfer .ph domain names from you to another registrar?

Yes. To transfer the domain, you will need to submit the request through your account at the .PH Registry (dot.ph/domains/account).

Can I add privacy and protection to .ph domain names?

No. Domains By Proxy® Private Registration and Protected Registration are currently unavailable for .ph domain names.

Can I backorder .ph domain names?

No. We do not currently support the backorder of .ph domain names.

Can I move .ph domain names to another account with you?

Can I update the contact information for .ph domain names?

If you want to update the Registrant Name or Company, you must do so through dotPH.

You can update all other contact information through COMPANY_NAME (more info).

Are there nameserver requirements for my .ph domain names?

The maximum number of namerservers is 3. The minimum number is 2.

NOTE:Vanity nameservers are not supported for .ph domain names.

Do you support DNSSEC for .ph domain names?

No.

Are IDN characters available for .ph domain names?

No. At this time, .ph domain names are only available with Latin alphabet characters (a-z).

NOTE: Domain names beginning or ending with hyphens, as well as domain names with hyphens in the third and fourth positions, are prohibited.
