Enabling International Shipping
If you ship products to customers outside of the United States, you must enable International Shipping for your Quick Shopping Cart® storefront. However, to ensure that your international orders are shipped and processed successfully, it is important to make sure all settings are correct, including those for the product, shipping carrier, payment method, and tax.
NOTE: We currently support shipping merchandise to locations within the United States and U.S. territories, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands. Additionally, Quick Shopping Cart supports shipping to many international locations. For a complete list, see What countries do you support for international shipping in Quick Shopping Cart?.
Enabling International Shipping
For the international shipping options to display in your site settings, you must enable it in your Storefront Preferences.
To Enable International Shipping
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- In the Quick Shopping Cart Account list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- From the Storefront menu, select Preferences.
- In the International Shipping section, select the countries outside the U.S. to which you ship. Click a country in the Available area and click >> to move it into the Selected area. Hold ctrl when clicking (command on a Mac) to select mulitple countries.
NOTE: By default, all products support shipping to counties in the Selected column. If you do not want a particular product to ship to a country in the Selected column, specify the international shipping options on the product page for that product. See "Setting International Shipping Options Per Product" belew.
- Click Save.
Setting Your Shipping Carrier for International Shipping
If you offer international shipping, you can enable either UPS or Custom as your shipping option.
To Set UPS as Your Shipping Carrier for International Shipping
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- In the Quick Shopping Cart Account list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- From the Processing menu, select Shipping.
- Click Enable for the UPS option. For more information about setting up UPS shipping, see Using UPS.
- In the International Shipping Options section, select the shipping options to provide to your international customers.
- Click Save.
NOTE: If you provide free shipping, it could be expensive when shipping Internationally.
To Set Custom Shipping Options for International Shipping
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- In the Quick Shopping Cart Account list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- From the Processing menu, select Shipping.
- In the Custom area, click Enable. For more information about setting up Custom shipping, see Setting Custom Options for Price-Based Shipping.
- Set any surcharge you want to add to each listed country..
- Click Save.
Setting International Shipping Options Per Product
When you enable international shipping, all products are shippable to all selected countries. If there are specific countries you do not want certain products to ship to, you can exclude them on a per-product basis.
To Set Your International Shipping Options Per Product
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- In the Quick Shopping Cart Account list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- From the Catalog menu, select Products.
- Next to the product you want to modify, click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- In the Product section, next to International Shipping, click Modify Selected Countries.
- Move countries that you do not want to ship to from the Selected list to the Exclude list. Make sure countries you do want to ship to display in the Selected list.
- Click Save.
NOTE: We advise that you do not offer Free Shipping on products you ship internationally. It can be expensive when you are responsible for all international shipping charges.
Setting Your Taxes for International Shipping
You can set tax rates for each country you've added to your shipping list.
To Set Your Taxes for International Shipping
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- In the Quick Shopping Cart Account list, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- From the Processing menu, select Taxes.
- Select State-based tax.
- From the Country menu, select the country for which you want to set a tax rate.
- Enter a tax rate. It is not necessary to include the "%" symbol when setting the Tax rate.
- Click Save.
