Using Tables and Objects in the Page Designer

The page designer in WebSite Tonight is designed to make creating Web pages a quick and easy process. The convenient Toolbar keeps all of your Web building tools organized and accessible. The Insert tab contains elements for adding useful features to your Web page, such as a table.

To Insert a Table

Tables are useful for formatting and aligning different styles of text. Tables often give the designer greater control and flexibility of how text and images will display on your Web page.

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
  3. If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the block you want to edit. Blocks are outlined in blue.
  5. Position your cursor where you want to add the table.
  6. Go to the Insert tab, and then click Table.
  7. Specify the layout of your table by completing the following fields:
    Rows
    Specify the number of rows you want to include in the table.
    Columns
    Specify the number of columns want to include in the table.
    Width
    Specify the width of the table, and then select the unit of measurement.
    Alignment
    Select an option for aligning the table on the page.
    Border thickness
    Specify the thickness you want to use for the table border.
    Cell spacing
    Specify the amount of space between the table cells.
    Cell padding
    Specify the amount of cell padding. Cell padding is the amount of space between the cell border and the text.
  8. Click OK.

To Edit a Table

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  3. If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the block that contains the table you want to edit.
  5. Click the table.
  6. Edit your table by completing any the following fields:
    Rows
    Specify the number of rows you want to include in the table.
    Columns
    Specify the number of columns want to include in the table.
    Width
    Specify the width of the table, and then select the unit of measurement.
    Alignment
    Select an option for aligning the table on the page.
    Border thickness
    Specify the thickness you want to use for the table border.
    Cell spacing
    Specify the amount of space between the table cells.
    Cell padding
    Specify the amount of cell padding. Cell padding is the amount of space between the cell border and the text.

To Insert a Variable

WebSite Tonight allows you to insert variables in your Web page. You may want to consider using a variable if the name of your company; copyright date; email address; or page browser, button, or heading title might change. You use the variable in place of the item. If you change the item name, WebSite Tonight automatically updates it in your Web page content where you inserted the variable as a placeholder.

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  3. If necessary, from the Select Page list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the block you want to edit. Blocks are outlined in blue.
  5. Position your cursor where you want to add your calendar.
  6. From the Toolbox, select Tables & Objects.
  7. From Tables & Objects, move your mouse over Insert Variable, then select the variable you want to insert.
  8. From the Insert Variable list, click the name of the variable you want to insert.
  9. Click OK.
