Creating a Video Blog (Vlog)
With Quick Blogcast, you can easily add a video blog entry to your site. Video blog entries, or vlogs, are simply blog entries that consist of video. Many vlog entries combine video and text. Often vlogs are video journals, but can consist of any content. Video blog entries are also called video podcasts, or vods (For video-on-demand). You can upload a video up to 100mb in size. Supported file types include:
- Windows Media Video (.wmv, .asf)
- QuickTime (.mov)
- VI
- MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4
- DV (in AVI containers only)
- .3gpp (mobile phones)
- FLV
With Quick Blogcast, you can record and upload a video from the Add video page if you are using a Windows® operating system. If you are using a Mac®, or already have a video podcast recorded, you can upload your video using the instructions below. To Create a Video Blog Entry
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Entries page, click Add Video.
- Click Record Video.
- In the Capture Devices window, select the audio and video device you want to use to record your video podcast.
- To preview what will be recorded, click Start Preview .
- To begin recording your podcast, click Start Recording .
- Stop Recording . Your video podcast will display in the video window.
- To add your video podcast to your site, click Start Upload.
- In the Title field, enter a title for the video podcast. In the Summary field, you can enter a brief description of the podcast (Optional).
- Click Save.
Note: Your blog site does not need to consist of any one type of entry. With Quick Blogcast, you can have written blog entries, video blog entries, and podcasts, all posted on the same site.
To Upload a Video Blog Entry
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Entries page, click Add Video.
- To upload and convert a video to Flash format, click Load Video.
- Select your video file and click Open.
- If necessary, you can select a starting and end point for your video by clicking Start Point and End Point.
- Click Start Encoding.
- Click Start Upload.
- Click Save.
