After setting up a POP or IMAP account on your iPhone®, you can enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for security. SSL encrypts messages to prevent third-parties from viewing your email messages.
Enabling SSL on Your iPhone
- From the Mail menu, tap the email account for which you want to enable SSL.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Advanced, and then tap Use SSL.
- From the Incoming Settings menu, next to Use SSL, tap ON.
- Tap Server Port and change the port to 995.
