Setting up Microsoft Entourage for SMTP Relay

To set up Microsoft Entourage® for use with SMTP relay, follow the instructions below.

To Set Up Microsoft Entourage for SMTP Relay

  1. Open Microsoft Entourage 2004.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
  3. Click New.
  4. If the Account Setup Assistant window displays, click Configure account manually.
  5. Select POP, and then click OK.
  6. In the Account Name field, type a name for your account.
  7. In the Name field, type your first and last name.
  8. In the E-mail Address field, type your email address.
  9. In the Account ID field, enter your email address.
  10. In the POP server field, type pop.secureserver.net.
  11. In the Password field, type the password for your email account.
  12. In the SMTP server field, type smtpout.secureserver.net.
  13. Click Click here for more advanced sending options.

    NOTE: "smtpout.secureserver.net" is an SMTP relay server. In order to use this server to send email messages, you must set up SMTP Relay on your email account. Log on to your Manage Email Accounts page to set up SMTP relay. If you do not have SMTP relay set up and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) allows it, you can use the outgoing mail server for your Internet Service Provider. Contact your Internet Service Provider to get this setting.

  14. Select Override default SMTP port, and then type 25, 80, 587, or 3535.
  15. Select SMTP server requires authentication.
  16. Select Use same settings as receiving mail server.
  17. Click OK.
