Setting up Your Apple Mail

Here's the Lowdown: To set up your account with POP Email use Outgoing Mail Server smtpout.secureserver.net and Incoming Mail Server pop.secureserver.net.
To set up your account with IMAP Email use Outgoing Mail Server smptout.secureserver.net and Incoming Mail Server imap.secureserver.net.

You can configure Apple Mail to access the email messages on your email account using POP or IMAP.

Setting Up Your Email in Apple Mail

  1. From the Mail menu, select Preferences.
  2. Select the Plus Symbol to create a new account.
  3. In the Add Account window, enter your full name, email address and password, and then click Continue.
  4. In the Incoming Mail Server window, from the Account Type list, select POP or IMAP.
  5. Enter the account information as follows:
    Description
    Enter the name for this mail server (e.g. secureserver.net).
    Incoming Mail Server
    Type pop.secureserver.net.
    User Name and Password
    Enter the Username and Password for this account.
  6. Click Continue
  7. In the Incoming Mail Security window, do not check Use Secure Sockets Layer. Select Authentication, and then click Continue.
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter the account information as follows:
    Description
    Enter the name for this mail server (e.g. secureserver.net).
    Outgoing Mail Server
    Type smtpout.secureserver.net.
    Select Use Authentication
    User Name and Password
    Enter the Username and Password for this account.
  9. Click Continue
  10. In the Outgoing Mail Security window, do not check Use Secure Sockets Layer, and be sure Authentication is selected. Click Continue.
  11. An Account Summary window reviews the account details. Verify that your account information is accurate, and then click Continue.
