Providing your customers with a convenient and secure way to purchase your goods is a key ingredient in building an effective online store. Quick Shopping Cart allows you to define your preferred payment options.

One of the first decisions you'll have to make is how you process credit card transactions. If your business already uses a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, you can accept credit cards and process them through your card swipe machine. This option lets you process transactions offline.

NOTE: Current credit card regulations do not allow us to store the Card Verification Value (CVV) codes with credit card information in our database for use with Point of Sale transactions. For more information, see Why can't I capture the CVV code for credit cards for Point of Sale transactions?.

If you want credit card transactions to be automatically processed, select one of the payment gateway options. Using a payment gateway allows you to process transactions online. It pre-authorizes the credit card payment, and then you can go into the order detail to manually capture the funds.

Consider offering a couple of choices to your customers when establishing payment options. For example, you may want to include PayPal and credit cards through a payment gateway or POS option. You cannot offer these combinations:

  1. Both payment gateways.
  2. A payment gateway and the POS Credit Card option.
