The .link domain extension will be a flexible space for all things digital. Because of its broad connotation, .link can be used in a myriad of ways, from linking professionals with one another to linking ideas across platforms for unique and helpful input.

General Availability

Beginning October 21, 2014, at 18:00 UTC, customers can register .link domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bulk .link registration is supported during General Availability.

Who can register .link domain names?

Anyone can register .link domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names) in the following languages are supported: Cyrillic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Which registry controls .link domain names?

Uniregistry manages and supports the .link domain extension.

For how long can I register .link domain names?

You can register a .link domain name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.

When do .link domain names renew?

We'll attempt to auto-renew your .link domain name on its expiration date. We will park .link domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.

Can I transfer .link domain names to my account with you?

Can I add privacy and protection to .link domain names?

Yes. Both Domains by Proxy Private Registration and Protected Registration are available for .link domain names.

Can I backorder .link domain names?

No. We currently do not support that backorder of .link domain names.

Are there DNS requirements for my .link domain names?

Two nameservers are required for .link domain to resolve, and a maximum of 13 nameservers is allowed. Vanity nameservers, DNSSEC, IPv4 and IPv6 are supported.
