If you want to a install an SSL certificate on your Mac OS X 10.9 server, you need to generate a certificate signing request (CSR) for the URL you want to secure.
To Generate a CSR with Mac OS X 10.7-10.9
- On the Mac, launch Server.
- Click Certificates on the left.
- Click +.
- Click Next.
- Complete the on-screen fields, and then click Next
- Either copy the CSR that displays, or click Save and save the file locally.

You can use this CSR to either request a new certificate or rekey an existing certificate.
