About .co.za Domain Names
The .co.za country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents the Republic of South Africa. For companies that conduct business in South Africa and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, these domain names are a good investment. Registering a .co.za domain name gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence.
Who can register .co.za domain names?
Any person or corporation can register a .co.za domain name on a first-come, first-served basis.
These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #.

ZADNA is the registry for .co.za domain names.
For how long can I register .co.za domain names?
You can register .co.za domain names for one year at a time.
When do .co.za domain names renew?
Your .co.za domain name must be renewed at least 2 days prior to expiration to avoid a $75 redemption fee and downtime.
If you do not pay the fee, the renewal fails before its expiration date and the domain will be parked and locked upon expiration.
You can renew your .co.za domain name at any time prior to this as long as the remaining term is less than one year, and the new registration term does not exceed two years.
Can I transfer .co.za domain names to my account with you?

The 60-day lock does not apply to .co.za domain names.

Can I transfer .co.za domain names from you to another registrar?

If the transfer is not accepted in 5 days, the .co.za transfer will fail.

Can I backorder .co.za domain names?
No. We do not currently support the backorder of .co.za domain names.

We do not support account changes for .co.za domains at this time.

Are there nameserver requirements for my .co.za domain names?
Yes. The following requirements apply to .co.za nameservers:
- Authoritative nameservers (nameservers that return answers only to queries about domain names that have been specifically configured by the administrator) are required.
- 2-5 nameservers are allowed
- 1-5 IPs are allowed per nameserver.
- Child nameservers require an IP address.
- Child host nameservers cannot be removed unless you delete the parent domain and then they will be deleted along with it.
- Max length of a nameserver name is 186 characters (not including the parent domain name).
NOTE: Vanity nameservers are supported for .co.za domain names.
What is the refund policy for .co.za domain names?
We do not support refunds upon cancellation for .co.za domains at this time (registration, auto-renewal and manual renewal).
Do you support DNSSEC for .co.za domain names?
No.
Are IDN characters available for .co.za domain names?
No. At this time, .co.za domain names are only available with Latin alphabet characters (a-z).
