Express Email Marketing Issues with Yahoo! And AOL Email Addresses

If you send Express Email Marketing campaigns with a From address at either Yahoo! or AOL, your emails are more likely to be rejected by your recipients' email service.

This issue is caused by a policy at both Yahoo! and AOL to help prevent spammers from abusing their services. Yahoo! and AOL have begun (and have asked others to start) bouncing back emails if:

  • Their From addresses are a Yahoo! or AOL email address
  • The emails were not sent from a Yahoo! or AOL email server

Because Express Email Marketing lets you specify your own From address and sends the email from our own servers, some of our customers' campaigns have been rejected or bounced back due to this new policy.

How do I make sure my Express Email Marketing campaigns are not affected?

We recommend changing your Express Email Marketing From address to an email address provided by another email service (more info).

If you have a domain name, ideally you should use it as your From address. You can find more about our email services here.

If you want to continue communicating with your customers using your Yahoo! or AOL email, we recommend setting it as your Express Email Marketing Reply-to address. This way, your campaigns will not trigger Yahoo! and AOL's filtering, but you'll still receive email replies to them at your Yahoo! or AOL email.
