Depending on how you set up your Managed WordPress account, you might need to configure your domain name's DNS settings so it points to your Managed WordPress site. To do that, you'll need to use a DNS entry called an "A Record." This will point your domain name to your hosting account's IP address.

To Find Your Managed WordPress IP Address

  1. Log in to Gateway using your IX-ONE DOMAIN HOST login.
  2. Beneath the WordPress hosting account you want to use, click Settings.
  3. Go to the DNS tab.

Using the IP Address for Your "A Record"

Now that you have the hosting account's IP address, you need to use it to create an A Record. What kind of A Record you need to use depends on how you set up your Managed WordPress site. Use the following examples to help you determine what kind of A Record you need:

Managed WordPress Domain A Record Host
coolexample.com @
subdomain.coolexample.com subdomain

In the above example, you could replace "subdomain" with whatever prefix (or subdomain) your WordPress site uses.

If your domain name is registered with us, use the Adding or Editing A Records section of Managing DNS for Your Domain Names.

If your domain name is not registered with us, you can create the A Record by contacting the company where your domain name is registered.
