Who can register .menu domain names?

Anyone can register .menu domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. It does not support IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) characters.

Premium one- and two-letter .menu domains will be sold at auction by AfterNic. The timeframe for the release of these domains or if they will renew at the premium rate has not yet been determined.

Which registry controls .menu domain names?

The WhatBox Registry, supported by Freund and Brackey Law Firm, manages and supports the .menu extension.

What is the advantage to registering .menu domain names?

We'll attempt to auto-renew your .build domain name on its expiration date. We will park .menu domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.
