In your Premium DNS account, you can create vanity nameservers — custom names for our nameservers. For example, if you manage the DNS for coolexample.com, you can set up ns1.coolexample.com and ns2.coolexample.com. By masking our nameservers with your own domain name, you can enhance your online business presence.

Your vanity nameservers point to our nameservers, which display in the Domain Manager and Zone File Editor. You can manually apply the vanity nameservers you create to other zone files (domain names) in your Premium DNS account. For more information, see Setting Nameservers for Your Domain Names.

You cannot use vanity nameservers with zone files registered elsewhere (labeled as Off-site and Hosted in your DNS Dashboard) or registered in other accounts with us.

To Create Vanity Nameservers in Premium DNS

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Premium DNS.
  3. Next to Premium DNS, click Manage.
  4. Click Advanced Settings for the zone file you want to create vanity nameservers for.
  5. Click Vanity Nameservers.
  6. For Enabled, select On.
  7. Enter names for your vanity nameservers. The default values are ns1 and ns2.
  8. Click Save.

TIP: After you set up vanity nameservers, a shortcut to the Set Nameservers section of the Domain Manager displays. Click Set nameservers now to access it. For more information, see Setting Nameservers for Your Domain Names.
