If you have 6 domains or fewer and you'd like to automatically connect your domain name to a WordPress.com Blog with our help (we'll do the heavy lifting for you), see Forwarding Your Domain Name

If you want to use your existing domain name with your WordPress.com blog, WordPress has the process outlined here.

We have the following information to help you complete the steps they provide:

  • If you have existing email accounts you want to keep using and come to the section talking about Custom DNS, you can enter those settings using our DNS Zone File(more info).
  • If you want to set it up using a subdomain, you can create an A Record (more info) whose Host Name is the subdomain you want to create. For example, if you wanted to create blog.coolexample.com, create an A Record with the Host Name blog.
  • If you want to change your nameservers to WordPress's nameservers, see Setting Nameservers for Your Domain Names.
