Our Windows Classic Hosting accounts let you set up Access database support. Using the Hosting Control Panel, you can automatically create an "access_db" directory where you can upload your access database files.

To Set up an Access Database for Your website

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Web Hosting.
  3. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Manage.
  4. In the Databases section of the Hosting Control Panel, click the Access icon.
  5. Click Enable Access Support. This creates a private directory in your hosting directory called "access_db." This directory will already have the appropriate database permissions set.

Once you enable Access database support by creating this directory, upload your Access database file to the "access_db" directory. The permissions on this directory allow anonymous Web users to read and write to the Access database through your scripts, but they cannot download your database.
