Domains By Proxy® (DBP) creates a unique email address for each domain name with private registration. Click here to see the difference between your email address and the one DBP creates for you.

You can set your DBP account to forward your email without filtering it, filter it for spam and then forward it to you, or not forward it at all. By default, DBP filters spam and forwards email messages to the email address you enter on the Customer Information page.

For information about sending responses to forwarded email messages, see Responding to Forwarded Emails for Domain Names with Privacy.

Updating Email Forwarding Settings for All Domain Names

On the Default Email Preference page, you can set the default email forwarding preference for the domain names in your DBP account, with the exception of any domain names for which you have set individual preferences.

By selecting the reset option, you can override the email forwarding preferences for all domain names in your DBP account, including those for which you have set individual preferences.

To Update Email Forwarding Settings for All Domain Names

  1. Go to DomainsByProxy.com, and log in to your account.

NOTE: If you have trouble logging in to your DBP account, see Retrieving Your Domains By Proxy Login Information.

  2. From Settings, select Default Email Preference.
  3. Select one of the following:
    • Forward all email — DBP forwards all email messages to the email address on the Customer Information page.
    • Filter for spam and forward — DBP filters out spam and forwards your remaining email messages to the email address on the Customer Information page.
    • Do not forward any email — DBP does not forward any email messages to you.
  4. (Optional) If you previously set different email forwarding preferences and/or addresses for individual domain names in your DBP account, you can select Reset all domains ... to override them.

If you select this option, all of the domain names in your DBP account will use the email forwarding preference you selected in step 3 and the email address you entered on the Customer Information page.

NOTE: This option only displays if you have set email forwarding preferences for individual domain names. If this option displays and you do not select it, then the preference you selected above will apply only to the domain names for which you have not set individual preferences.

  5. Click Save.

Updating Email Forwarding Settings for Individual Domain Names

From the Private Domains tab, you can set email forwarding preferences for individual domain names. If you set a preference for an individual domain name, it overrides the default preference you set on the Default Email Preference page.

NOTE: If you need to update the email forwarding preference for all of your domain names at once, you can override your preferences for individual domain names by selecting the reset option on the Default Email Preference page. To do so, see the instructions in the section above.
