Your hosting account has a built-in file manageryou can use to upload files to your hosting account.

NOTE: cPanel's built-in file manager only lets you upload files one at a time. If you need to upload a lot of files (e.g. your whole website), we recommend using FTP (more info) or uploading an archived collection of files (ZIP) and then extracting it.

To Upload Files Using the File Manager

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Web Hosting.
  3. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Manage.
  4. In the Files section, click File Manager.
  5. If an option window displays, select the directory you want to open, and then click Go.
  6. Navigate to the directory where you want to upload the file.

    NOTE: cPanel uses public_html as the root directory of your primary domain name's website.

  7. Click Choose File, locate the file on your local machine, and then click OK.
  8. After you upload the files you want, click Back to....
