Sound is a crucial part of our daily lives, and can elevate our environment both online and in the physical sense. The .audio domain will be the premiere online space for musicians, sound engineers and producers who live to create, reproduce and transmit sound.

Beginning October 21, 2014, at 18:00 UTC, customers can register .audio domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bulk .audio registration is supported during General Availability.

Who can register .audio domain names?

Anyone can register .audio domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names) in the following languages are supported: Cyrillic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Which registry controls .audio domain names?

Uniregistry manages and supports the .audio domain extension.

For how long can I register .audio domain names?

You can register a .audio domain name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.

When do .audio domain names renew?

We'll attempt to auto-renew your .audio domain name on its expiration date. We will park .audio domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.

Can I transfer .audio domain names to my account with you?

Two nameservers are required for .audio domain to resolve, and a maximum of 13 nameservers is allowed. Vanity nameservers, DNSSEC, IPv4 and IPv6 are supported.
