Beginning October 21, 2014, at 18:00 UTC, customers can register .gift domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who can register .gift domain names?

Anyone can register .gift domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names) in the following languages are supported: Cyrillic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Which registry controls .gift domain names?

Uniregistry manages and supports the .gift domain extension.

For how long can I register .gift domain names?

You can register a .gift domain name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.

When do .gift domain names renew?

We'll attempt to auto-renew your .gift domain name on its expiration date. We will park .gift domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.

Can I transfer .gift domain names to my account with you?

Are there DNS requirements for my .gift domain names?

Two nameservers are required for .gift domain to resolve, and a maximum of 13 nameservers is allowed. Vanity nameservers, DNSSEC, IPv4 and IPv6 are supported.
