Pre-registration gives you the best possible chance of securing a domain name before it's available to the general public, but it doesn't guarantee you will get it. You can pre-register for the Landrush and General Availability phases, and we'll submit your registration application when the phase begins.

Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee.

From Aug. 27, 2014, at 15:00 UTC to Sept. 5, 2014, at 15:00 UTC, customers can purchase .global domain names at a premium price. An application fee in addition to the domain's registration fee is collected when the registration request is submitted.

Bulk .global registration is supported during Landrush.

Multiple applications with different registrars are handled through an auction process. The awarded registrar will hold an auction and award the domain to the highest bidder. If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee. Application fees will not be refunded.

NOTE: You cannot cancel your pre-registration application. If you are awarded the domain name, you have 5 days to cancel your domain name and get a refund of the registration fee only.

Anyone can register .global domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names) supported include: German (DE), Danish (DE), Swedish (SV), Polish (PL) and Spanish (ES.)

Premium .global domain names will appear as unavailable until Afilias has implemented structure.

Dot Global manages and supports the .global extension.

The new .global domain is custom-made for organizations that seek to reach a more universal audience.

You can register a .global domain name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.

We'll attempt to auto-renew your .global domain name on its expiration date. We will park .global domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 45 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.

Two nameservers are required for .global domains to resolve, and a maximum of 13 nameservers is allowed. IPv4, IPv6, and vanity nameservers are supported.
