Starting over with My Server (Reprovision)

If you want to revert to a clean setup on your server, you can reprovision it, which returns it to the state of a newly purchased server.

Reprovisioning erases all of the content on your server hard drive and cannot be undone.

To Reprovision Your Server

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Servers.

Click one of the following based on the type of management interface your server uses (more info).

Gateway

  1. Next to the server you want to use, click Manage.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Next to OS, click Change.
  4. Complete the following fields, and then click Destroy and Rebuild:
    Field What to do...
    Server name Enter a name to refer to your server by.
    User name Enter a user name to log in to your server.
    Password &
    Confirm Password
    Enter a password to log in to the server.
    Data Center Region [Coming soon] Select the location where you want to create your server.
    Image Select the operating system you want to use.
    Control Panel Select the control panel you want to use.1
    Import your sites Select any cPanel shared hosting accounts you want to import (more info).

    1 Not all control panels are available on all images/operating systems. For example, you cannot select cPanel if you want to use Fedora on your VPS. To use the control panel, you must select a compatible image/operating system.

Hosting Control Panel

  1. Next to the server you want to use, click Manage.
  2. In the Support section, click Reprovision Server. The Reprovision Server page opens.
  3. If you choose to, enter a new hostname and username. These values are defaulted to the current hostname and username for this account.
  4. Enter and confirm a new password and then click Submit.

You will receive a confirmation notice once your server is reprovisioned and ready to go.
