To install software on your dedicated server, simply copy the applicable installation package (RPM file) to your server and run it using a remote-administration tool, such as SSH.

NOTE: Usually, you have to log in to your server as "root" in order to install software. To log in as root, log in to your server using your normal user ID and password and then type su
at the command prompt. Use the same password that you used to log in to your server. This will log you in as root.
