Consider the following when importing a customer list into Express Email Marketing:

  1. If the file contains column headings, those heading should match the standard and custom questions presented in the Express Email Marketing sign-up form. If they do not, you will be able to adjust each column in the formatting stage of the file import.
  2. Fields in the imported file should not include unwanted spaces. For example, the heading "First Name" contains a wanted space; however, the first name field should be formatted as "John," (with no unwanted spaces between the delimiter and entry).
  3. The possible values in the imported file must exactly match those presented in the profile information in Express Email Marketing. For example, string matches like "list" and "option" questions must exactly match; Express Email Marketing offers an age range of "18-25", so the imported file must not read "(space)18-25" or "18-29".

NOTE: If the imported data is not assigned to a column and runs in a single line in the preview section, make sure that the proper delimiter is selected.
