Compressing Files in Online File Folder
By compressing or zipping files in your Online File Folder, you can minimize the amount of storage space that your files use. You also minimize the size of outgoing email message attachments or files you are downloading.
NOTE: Compressed files are stored with a .zip extension.
To Compress Files
- Log in to Online File Folder.
- Go to the Files tab.
- In the Folders list, click the folder that contains the file(s) or folder you want to compress.
- In the upper right corner, next to the navigation buttons, click the View icon that represents the View you want to use.
- Locate and select the file(s) or folder you want to compress.
NOTE: In some views you can just click additional files to select multiple files. In others, you may need to press the Shift key and then click additional files.
- Click the Actions icon, represented by a chevron or down arrow, click More, and then click Zip Selection.
NOTE: In the Thumbnail and Filmstrip views the Actions icon is located on the lower right corner of file image. For the List view, the Actions icon is located to the right of the file. In the Columns view, the Actions menu is located in the Preview column. When selecting multiple files, the Actions menu displays only for the file closest to the bottom and/or right side of the view.
- In the Zip Files window, in the Archive Files section, in the Save Zip archive as field, enter a name for the compressed files.
- To download the compressed files to your computer, select Download.
- To save the compressed files in your Online File Folder, select Save in Online File Folder.
- To send the link in an email message, select Send as email attachment, and then complete the following:

- Enter the email address of the person you want to send the compressed files to.
- Subject
- Enter a subject for the email message.

- Enter the content of the email message.
- Click OK.
