Adding and Editing RSS Feeds

You can subscribe to Web sites, such as news sites and blogs, and add the subscription to your Web site. Content, or posts, from the Web site you subscribe to displays on your Web site. Subscription content is updated in real-time, that is, when the author submits an updated post, your Web page reflects the update.

To Add an RSS Feed to Your Web Site

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
  3. If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the block you want to edit. Blocks are outlined in blue.
  5. Position your cursor where you want to add the date.
  6. Go to the Insert tab.
  7. Select Feed.
  8. To add an RSS feed from a list of popular feeds, select the RSS feed from the Popular RSS feed box.
  9. To add an RSS feed not listed, select Custom RSS URL, and then complete the following:
    Custom RSS URL
    In the field, type the URL for the feed.
    Custom Feed Name
    In the field, specify the name of the feed. The name you specify displays on your Web page.
  10. Go to the Properties tab. From the Properties tab you can edit the following:
    Settings
    Specify the maximum number of posts you want to display. You can also have links open in a new window, include item descriptions, display the date and time of a post, and display the author's name for the post.
    Display settings
    Customize text for feed title and feed content.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click OK to close the content block.

 

To Edit an RSS Feed on Your Web Site

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  3. If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page that contains the feed.
  4. Click the block that contains the feed.
  5. Click the RSS Feed icon.
  6. Edit the RSS feed information.
