Blocking and Allowing IP Addresses in Quick Blogcast

Quick Blogcast gives you the option of using trackbacks for your blogcast entries. Trackbacks notify you when somebody links to one of your entries. This enables you to keep track of who is linking to or referring to your Web entries.
To Block IP Addresses for a Trackback
Banning an IP address prevents anyone connecting to the Internet using that IP address to create a trackback to any entry in your Blog.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Entries menu, select Select Trackbacks.
- In the list, locate the trackback(s) that contains the IP addresses that you want to ban.
- Select Excerpt, Blog, URL, or Status, then enter a keyword and click Search
- Use the checkboxes to select the trackback(s) that contains the IP addresses that you want to ban.
- Select Ban IP Addresses from the Select Action drop-down menu.
- Click Apply. The Ban Reason popup window opens.
- Enter the reason that you want to ban the selected IP addresses.
- Click OK.
- Notification that the IP addresses were banned displays above the Trackbacks list.
To Block IP Addresses for Comments
Blocking an IP address prevents anyone connecting to the Internet using that IP address from leaving a comment for any entry on your site.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Entries menu, select Select Comments.
- In the Comments List, locate the comment(s) that contain the IP addresses that you want to ban.
- Select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status, then enter a keyword and click Search
- Use the checkboxes to select the comment(s) that contain the IP addresses that you want to ban.
- Select Ban IP Addresses from the Select Action drop-down menu.
- Click Apply. The Ban Reason popup window opens.
- Enter the reason that you want to ban the selected IP addresses.
- Click OK.
- Notification that the IP addresses were banned displays above the Comments list.
To Remove an IP Address from Your Blacklist
When you block an IP address or remove the IP address from your blacklist, you are allowing visitors connecting to the Internet through that IP to leave comments on your entries.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Blacklist.
- In the list, select the checkboxes of any IP Addresses that you want to unban.
- Click the Approve Trackbacks button. The Unban this IP address button is located in the Actions column.
