The Sidebar is the area on your Quick Blogcast page that contains quick links to specific information pertaining to your blog. You can customize which widgets display, the order in which they appear, and change their titles.

Available Widgets

Depending on where you place your sidebar items, you can include any, all, or none of the following widgets in your side bar (listed in alphabetical order):

Bio Link
Adds a biography and image to the sidebar.
Blogroll
Allows you to list hyperlinks to other Web sites. This is generally used to link to other blogs.
Calendar
Inserts a calendar with links to dates that contain entries that you set. Visitors click on the date to open the entries for that day.
Category Archives
Displays an archived list of entries in your blog, organized by categories.
Comment Showcase
Displays featured comments, or showcased comments, which you select from the Manage Comments area. For more information about selecting comments to display in the Showcase, see Managing Comments.
Custom Text
For paid Quick Blog users, Custom Text allows you to add custom text/HTML to your sidebar.
Feed List
Lists hyperlinks to all RSS and Atom feeds for your blog.
Google Ad
For paid Quick Blog users who have signed up for Google® AdSense and Google® Ad lists advertisements.
Monthly Archives
Adds an archive of entries in your blog organized by month.
Quick Blogcast Player
Visitors to your site can listen to, or watch, your podcast while continuing to browse your site or the Internet with the new sidebar media player. Just add the player to your sidebar; when a visitor clicks the player, a new podcast player window opens. This allows listeners to enjoy your podcast without having to remain on the blogcast page.
Recent Comments
Adds a list of recent comments to entries in your blog.
Recent Entries
Adds a list of recent entries to your blog.
Search
Inserts a search field, so visitors can find your blog entries they are interested in. Visitors now have the option of performing a basic search, using keywords to search only in titles, or an advanced search, specifying the location (titles, content, all) and a date range for the entry search.
Subscribe Via Email
Adds a link to a subscription form that enables subscribers to receive entries and comments through email. This displays on the sidebar under the heading Subscribe.
Twitter Link
Adds a Twitter link to your sidebar. Twitter is a social blogging service that allows users to submit posts through instant messaging, SMS, or the Twitter Web site.

Widget Locations

You can place Widgets in the following areas:

Available Widgets
In the Available Widgets area, you can view a list of the widgets that are not currently on your blog but are available for adding to it.
Active Widgets
In the Active Widgets area, you can view a list of all the widgets you've selected to use in your sidebar.

NOTE: Certain templates support multiple sidebars. If the template you selected supports multiple sidebars two Active Widget areas display: Active Widgets Left and Active Widgets Right.
