Which programming languages do you support with CGI?

Our base CGI language support on Deluxe and Premium Linux shared hosting includes the following:

  • PERL (v 5.8.0)
  • PHP (v 4.3.11)
  • Python (v 2.2.3-5)

If you are using Hosting Configuration 2.0, the following additional languages are supported:

  • PHP5 (v 5.1.2)
  • Python (v 2.2)
  • Ruby on Rails (v 1.1.6, v2.2.2, v2.1.2, v2.0.5, v1.2.6)

Other languages:

Applications written in a compiled language such as C++ are not supported unless the applications are compiled specifically to run under the Linux operating system.

ColdFusion and Java (JSP) are available as add-on languages. ColdFusion does require an additional monthly fee, but Java can be added to your hosting free of charge.

NOTE: You cannot use Java and Ruby on Rails together on your hosting account. If you enable Java, you can no longer use Ruby on Rails. In addition, you cannot use ColdFusion together with Java or Ruby on Rails. If you enable ColdFusion, you can no longer use Java or Ruby on Rails. If you enable Java, you can no longer use ColdFusion.
