Bandwidth is a measurement of the amount of data allowed to pass between a user’s Web site and the rest of the Internet.

In general, if you have a commercial site or a site that generates a lot of traffic, you should consider getting additional bandwidth. If you have a basic, personal site that you have set up for friends and family, you probably do not need to order additional bandwidth.

To Add More Bandwidth to Your Hosting Account

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, select Hosting.
  3. Click on the name of the hosting account you want to modify.
  4. In the Hosting Account Details section on the right, click Upgrade/Downgrade Hosting Account.
  5. In the Upgrade/Downgrade Hosting Plan section on the right, select the checkbox next to Additional Data Transfer.
  6. Select the additional amount of bandwidth (data transfer) you want to add to your hosting account.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Continue through the checkout process.
