Allowing Internet Access for the Email Setup Tool
When using the Email Setup Tool to setup your email account to work with Windows Mail, Outlook Express®, Outlook® 2003, or Outlook® 2007, based on your security setting for your firewall, you may receive a warning from McAfee or Norton that the Email Setup Tool is attempting to access the Internet.
To Allow Internet Access in McAfee
- In the Program Wants Internet Access dialog box, select Allow Access.
Or, to change the permissions for this application in the McAfee Security Center, do the following:
- From the Start menu, open McAfee Security Center.
- Select Internet and Network Protection.
- Select Configure, and then select Firewall Protection - Advanced.
- In the Firewall menu, select Program Permissions.
- In the Program Permissions section, select Email Account Setup Tool.
- In the Action section, select Allow Access or Allow Outbound-Only Access.
- Click OK.
To Allow Internet Access in Norton 360
- From the Start menu, open Norton 360.
- From the PC Security menu, select Manage Firewall, and then go to the Program Rules tab.
- In your list of programs, locate and select OutlookSet.
- In the Access column, select Allow from the drop down list.
- Click Modify, and then click Close.
