Importing Zone File Records

You can import zone file records from a third party. For example, if you want us to manage your DNS, you could export the zone file records from your current DNS manager and import them to use with our system or import a zone file currently in use on a BIND DNS server.

The data format must follow the BIND zone file format and RFC 1035. We do not support all BIND zone file features, and we only import A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and SRV record types.

To Import Zone File Records

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.
  3. In your list of domains, click the domain name you want to view. The details for the domain display.
  4. In the Total DNS field, click the Total DNS Control and MX Records hyperlink.
  5. Click the Import/Export button, and then click Import.
  6. Click Browse, and then locate and open the file.
  7. Click OK.
