When Simple Control Panel is used in conjunction with the Cisco PIX 501 hardware firewall, two processes may be affected: the external resolution of domains while running DNS, and the mapping of domain IP addresses through the firewall.

DNS

When setting up domains within Simple Control Panel, domains must be associated with the internal (10.x.x.x) IP addresses for your server. Your firewall will automatically map incoming requests on your external IP addresses to your internal (10.x.x.x) addresses. To configure Simple Control Panel DNS zone files, see Simple Control Panel DNS Configuration With Cisco PIX 501 Hardware Firewall.

Web Sites

When setting up domains within Simple Control Panel, be sure to associate your domains with the internal (10.x.x.x) IP addresses for your server. During the domain setup wizard, you will be presented a dropdown list of all IP addresses that exist on the box. When you select the appropriate address, your firewall will automatically map incoming requests on your external IP addresses to your internal (10.x.x.x) addresses.
