To use all of the space on your dedicated Windows server, you need to partition the hard drive on your server and select an appropriate file system.
To Partition a Dedicated Server With Two Hard Drives
- Log in to your server using Remote Desktop Connection and open the Windows Control Panel (i.e., from the Start Menu, select Control Panel).
- Select Administrative Tools.
- Select Computer Management.
- In the tree on the left, click Disk Management. If the Initialize and Convert Disk Wizard opens, click Cancel.
- Right click on Disk 1.
- Select Initialize Disk. The Initialize Disk window opens. Click OK.
- Right click on Unallocated Partition.
- Select New Partition. The New Partition Wizard displays. Click Next.
- Select Primary Partition and accept the default size for your partition.
- Assign a drive letter for your new partition.
- To start formatting your partition, click Next.
