Get an Authorization Code for Transfers
Some domain name registries assign authorization codes (also known as EPP codes or transfer keys) to domain names when you register them. When you register a new domain name with us, we store your code, if applicable. You may have to use it to transfer the domain name to another registrar.
To Get an Authorization Code via Email (Active Domain Name)
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Manage.
- Do one of the following, based on the number of the domains in your account:
- For 6 domains or fewer: Select the domain name you want to use, click (Settings) and select Domain Settings. In the Additional Settings section, click the Authorization code link.
- For more than 6 domains: Click the domain you want to use. In the Authorization Code section, click Email my code, and then click Send.
- The code will now be emailed to you.
If your domain name is expired but still in a recoverable status, we can send the authorization code to the administrative contact's (admin) email address for the domain name.
To Get an Authorization Code via Email (Expired Domain Name)
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Manage.
- From Domains menu, select Expired Domains.
- Select the domain names to email authorization codes for, click Email Authorization, and then click OK. We send the authorization code to the admin email address for the domain name.

NOTE: If you have a .au domain name, we will send the authorization code to the registrant contact's email address as it displays in the Whois database.
